After enjoying the District's Highest Test scores we have had a stumble in last year's results.  We enjoyed growth in the QDI from 106 to 130, 139 then to 177, now coming down to 156.  Our teachers continue to be committed and dedicated to the task and continue working hard. They tutor after school on their own time and during their prep periods to prepare students to pass SATP tests and ultimately graduate.  The new US History test is the chief cause to the decline in scores.  A new test usually always means lower scores in the beginning.  Our assessments and instruction are changing to meet the challenge.  This is a difficult task when we have such little time to prepare for the changes that are thrust upon us.

One highlight in our scores was our Algebra I which had a QDI of 222.  That score alone would have given us an A. We also have near 80% graduation rate which is above district and state

graduation average.   Students have to be better prepared for reading and we have reading goals in all English classes and begun Read 180 which should help struggling readers improve.  Reading ability is a greater predictor of state test passage than knowledge of contest.  Encourage your child to read and be a reader by example.
