The 2025-2026 accountability results were released under Mississippi's updated accountability model, which increased the number of points required for schools and districts to earn each letter grade. The updated standards establish a new baseline for evaluating school and district performance.

"I am extremely proud of the tremendous progress demonstrated by our students, teachers, administrators, and support staff. Our district's remarkable 46-point increase, the highest growth among school districts in Central Mississippi, is especially significant considering the state's increased academic standards and more rigorous proficiency cut scores. This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and collective commitment to excellence throughout our district. While we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that our work is far from finished. We are not yet where we are going, but we are certainly well on our way to becoming a high-performing school district. We will continue to build on this momentum as we remain committed to academic excellence," said Dr. Robert L. Sanders, Superintendent of the Simpson County School District.
