In recognition of February as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, the Simpson County School District is highlighting the programs offered at the Simpson County Technical Center.

Among those programs is the Agriculture and Natural Resources pathway, which introduces students to the broad field of agriculture and natural resource management.

Students in the pathway receive instruction in plant and animal production, natural resource conservation and sustainability, agribusiness management practices, and the maintenance of facilities and equipment. The program emphasizes applied sciences and provides opportunities for students to gain practical, real-world experience.

Through active learning exercises, students participate in activities associated with the National FFA Organization and complete supervised agricultural experiences that enhance both technical skills and leadership development.

The Agriculture and Natural Resources pathway equips students with foundational knowledge and skills that can be used to secure entry-level employment or serve as a strong foundation for continued education.
