School Board

Members of the Simpson County School District Board of Education were honored during the district’s regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, February 12, in recognition of School Board Appreciation Week, observed statewide February 16-20.

A reception was held prior to the meeting, and principals from across the district presented gifts to honor the board members for their leadership and continued service to students, staff, and families.

“This week gives us a meaningful opportunity to publicly thank our board members for their leadership, time, and dedication to the students and families of Simpson County,” said Dr. Robert Sanders, Simpson County School District Superintendent.

School board members play a vital role in setting the vision and goals of the district, adopting policies, overseeing the district’s budget, and evaluating progress to ensure students receive a quality education. They serve as both the voice of the community within the school system and the voice of the school system within the community.

Throughout the year, the Board of Education works collaboratively with district leadership to support instructional programs, extracurricular activities, facility improvements, and initiatives that strengthen opportunities for all students.
