As Career and Technical Education Month continues, the Simpson County School District is highlighting the Construction/Carpentry pathway at the Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC).

This program provides students with hands-on experience in four key construction areas: carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing.

Students who successfully complete the program may enter the workforce directly or continue their education at a post-secondary institution of their choice.

A student is using a tape measure  to measure wood.A student is organizing woodThe curriculum framework for the program was developed in partnership with the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation, the accredited sponsor for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Students enrolled in the program test through NCCER to earn nationally recognized certification credentials.
