As Career and Technical Education Month continues, the Simpson County School District is highlighting the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) pathway at the Simpson County Technical Center.

The HVAC-R pathway is designed to prepare students for employment or continued education in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry.
HVAC I emphasizes foundational knowledge and skills, including employability skills, safety, construction math, construction drawings, materials handling, copper and piping, soldering and brazing, and basic electricity.

HVAC II builds on those fundamentals with instruction in carbon steel piping, cooling and heating systems, air distribution, leak detection, evacuation, recovery and charging, alternating current, and basic electronics.
Students enrolled in the program test through the National Center for Construction Education and Research to earn nationally recognized certification credentials.
