Simpson County School District Families and Community,

The Simpson County School District (SCSD) is sharing important information about changes to Mississippi’s accountability model, which will take effect with the release of the 2025-2026 school and district grades.

The Mississippi State Board of Education has updated the way schools and districts are evaluated, raising expectations for how performance is measured across the state.

This means school and district letter grades will be based on a new, more rigorous scale.

As these changes are implemented statewide, families may notice differences in school ratings compared to previous years. These changes reflect a shift in how progress is measured – not a pause in the work happening in our classrooms.

In SCSD, our focus remains the same:

Supporting student growth at every level
Strengthening instruction in every classroom
Preparing students for success beyond graduation

We see this transition as an opportunity to continue building on the progress already taking place across our schools.

Our educators, students, and staff are committed to meeting these higher expectations, and we look forward to the continued growth ahead.
