COVID-19 Protocols

Simpson County School District has instituted the following COVID-19 protocols for students affected by the coronavirus:

  • Any student testing positive for COVID-19 will isolate at home for five days following a positive test result. Students may return as long as they are not having any symptoms. When they return, they will wear a mask for five days.

  • Any student who is having symptoms (i.e., fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, runny nose) will be excluded from the school setting and tested for COVID-19 and will follow protocol for a positive or negative test result.

  • Asymptomatic close contacts will remain at school and must wear a mask 10 days following exposure. Testing is highly recommended on Day 5.

  • Only students who are considered close contacts, or returning from isolation, will be required to wear masks. Masks for all other students are highly recommended.

Students are encouraged to be up to date on their vaccinations in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the school setting. To be considered up to date on vaccinations, students, age 5 and up, should have the first two series of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccination and a booster shot five months following the primary series.

Mask Protocol

Masks are highly recommended.
