Parents enrolling students into Simpson County School District for the 2023-2024 School Year, must complete a two-part student registration process that consists of an online registration and in-person registration. See the details below for important information on how to complete the student registration process.
ONLINE REGISTRATION
Online Registration for new and returning students for the 2023-24 School Year will open on the following dates:
- New Student Online Registration – Thursday, June 1, 2023
- Returning Student Online Registration – Saturday, July 1, 2023
**Online registration is a requirement and must be completed before in-person registration can be conducted.
IN-PERSON REGISTRATION
In-person Registration for both new and returning students for the 2023-24 School Year will be held on the following dates:
- Monday, July 10, 2023, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 11, 2023, Noon – 7 p.m.
**You must have completed online registration before attending in-person registration.
Registration Locations
During in-person registration, required documentation must be submitted to the designated registration location for your school area. Registration locations are as follows:
- Mendenhall High School Gym -- Mendenhall Elementary School, Mendenhall Junior High School, Mendenhall High School
- Magee Elementary School Gym -- Magee Elementary School, Magee Middle School, Magee High School
- Simpson Central School -- Simpson Central School
**Please do not deliver any documents to a school office prior to in-person registration. These documents will not be accepted until the dates of in-person registration.
Required Documentation
- Birth Certificate
- Mississippi 121 Shot Record for new students
- Updated Mississippi 121 Shot Record with tDap for all students entering 7th grade
- Guardianship Papers (Proof of guardianship must be presented, as only a legal guardian can register a student)
- Two (2) proofs of residency
Parents and legal guardians must provide at least two current documents – one from Group 1 and one from Group 2 – to verify residency (a post office box will not be accepted).
Group 1
- Mortgage Document
- Property Deed with physical address
- Filed Homestead Exemption
- Tax Receipt with physical address
- Apartment/Home Lease
- Rental Agreement with term dates and/or month-to-month clause
Group 2
- Utility Bill*(water, gas, electric)*
- Automobile Tag Registration Receipt (valid during current school year)
- Government Mailing Documents (SSI, WIC, Economic Assistance, Medicaid, TANF, CHIP)
Partial documentation will not be accepted. Be sure to bring ALL the above documents.
Only the Parent/Legal Guardian is allowed to register a student. Photo ID will be required at registration.
Students will not be registered for school unless an online registration has been completed and ALL documentation has been received during in-person registration.
