Welcome to Simpson County School District!

I am delighted and honored to serve as your Superintendent of Education. The Simpson County School District is a wonderful place, filled with amazing teachers, staff, parents, and students. I have been privileged to call this district my home for the past eight years, serving as principal of Magee Elementary School, and I look forward to many wonderful years in this new role.

I strive to build a strong foundation for all the boys and girls of Simpson County. I want this district to be a place where you always know your child is in a safe, engaging, and academically rigorous environment, where when they graduate, they will have the 21st century skills necessary to succeed not only here in Simpson County, but anywhere else in the world as well.

To our teachers and staff, I challenge you to provide your absolute best for each and every person you encounter in this district. Go that extra mile; dedicate yourself to your purpose; and remember, we are not only teaching a class, but we are also rearing a child.

To our students and parents, while we will be devoted to providing your child with the highest quality of education, I challenge you to make the most of these years. There will be opportunities to grow, to learn, and to attain goals you never imagined possible. It will take hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn. You are capable of accomplishing anything. Take advantage of this opportunity.

To our community, you are vital to make this process better. Support your schools. They are part of the infrastructure that make Simpson County a great place to live. A school system with strong community support is not only a school system that will do great things, but a county that will accomplish great things as well.

As we embark upon this school year, let us all embrace the potential and possibilities that lie before us. Every day will not be easy, but together we will accomplish so many great things that will shape our community and the lives of our children for years to come.

Thank you,

Dr. Paul Lawrence
